Bring Me Back To Now   7/9/09


She displays my poems
through interpretive dance.
My inner most erratic emotions
revealed by her graceful motions.

The wind swirls around her hair.
She sways in ways I fail to grasp.
I cannot look away.

She has penetrated my mind more
than any other has dared.
And when my past invades my
memories with vicious force,
she gently guides me to
the here and now.

When I wander through the depths
of recollection she refuses to let me get lost.
I am easily led astray, but her voice
beckons me to the present.

I gaze at her perpetual movements,
mesmerized and contemplative.
Attempting to focus - willing to try.
I am not comfortable in my own skin.
She reaches beneath the surface
and fills the gaping holes.

Hers is the calm waters to combat my agitated sea.
I am incomplete without her here with me.

Perhaps I can, perchance I might,
write a poem for her to dance tonight.
