Divorce 8/7/07
The tears...
appear.
The blame is dropped.
The sky falls.
Her heart beats fast.
His eyes look away.
She looks at their baby boy.
All these years mean nothing.
Anger wells beneath her shaking skin.
One act can destroy.
He hurtles harsh words her way.
His last effort to conceal his guilt.
Silence is the last breath.
She looks around at the house
they worked to hard to build for one last time.
Her eyes look directly at his and he
is stabbed with her pain betrayal.
The love they had is a memory.
He knows this, and his heart beats faster
as he anticipates the next words.
"You've hurt me for the last time. It's over."
She looks away and picks up her boy.
He cries his two year old cries and she walks out
the door. The slam wakes up the neighbors.
The night sky is dark, the wind blows her hair.
The house lights go dark, just like her relationship.
One question repeats in her numb brain:
What do I do now? What do I do now?
Lightning flashed the sky and
thunder rolled into her heart.

Lakeside Zejel
Alongside the morning sun, the pale moon still glows
And I rise, listening t the stream as it flows
As it sings in harmony with the verdant forest boughs
Rising to my feet, for a moment I stand still
Listening as a zephyr dances where it will
Standing awestruck by the spring's vast poetic skill
And songbirds sing as each flower begins to grow
As the light mist vanishes from the lake
The sorrow deep within my soul I try to shake
But the ripples in the water soothe my heartache
And for the briefest of moments, God's mercy shows

Yours
Yours
Make me
Groan with delight
Hold tight my fantasy
Fight against all the shackles
Keep me balanced, the room's spinning
We forsake all others, forsake ourselves too
While sating our thirst, while feeding our hungers
We tie up loose ends around each other's collarbones
By breaking bones and rules and taking everything for granted
Can't stop hiding the images behind my eyes and memorizing them
Swirling the lust around, a wine taster savoring intimate flavors
Floating on blues and greens, absorbing your sensuality too
Bodies intertwined, come down from above my frame
Fasten your mouth to mine, breathing tandem
Pressed together, it's urgent
